BT – Electronic Opus Miami [Event]

Electronic Opus held in Miami, FL was truly an amazing WMC experience. What an incredibly unique blend of music ideas put together by the legendary BT. A concept where technology fusions electronic music and a full orchestra redefine the way we enjoy it. State of the art visual technology was implemented to see this creation of music in physical form too. The energy was simply breathtaking during performances like Emergency, Dreaming and Love Comes Again. However, there is no doubt that the deepest and most touching moment was the dedication BT made to his daughter. It’s very clear that she is the motor of his heart. Definitely an unforgettable and elegant way of closing off WMC 2015.

Track by Track Review:

1. I Need More
It is a bit different from the other tracks on this EP. The suspenseful build ups leading to a, by comparison to the other tracks, relatively calm drop that veers away from your typical Drum n Bass percussion.

Public Stream Not Yet Available

2. Capitalism
Glitchier than the previous track but, still pretty nice. The repetitive dark synths really brings the track together. Plan on having a mosh pit any time soon? Perfect track for that.

Public Stream Not Yet Available

3. Big Data
Love the intro. The engulfing dark and deep sounds at the beginning create an amazing lead up to the drop which, as any good DnB should, is full of energy.

4. Rock N’ Roll
The track title selection fits it well. This is a track a DJ should start their set with — amazing intro with an insane drop. Don’t believe me? Take a listen yourself

Review of Dirty South – Unbreakable: Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune

Dirty South Unbreakable

In this new, hot track by Dirty South, a Pete Tong Essential Tune, Unbreakable, Dirty South creates a beautiful blend of dance, trance, and melodic music.  The song starts off with having a very light, melodic background noise, later introducing the vocals, who follow a similar style as Coldplay. As the lyrics build, the baseline grows stronger, introducing more and more instruments as the chorus progresses. The drop has a very light melody with a heavy focus on the trance genre.

“Unbreakable” Out August 2014

Born in Serbia, raised in Australia, Dirty South’s life has caused him to travel all over, also making him a very well-rounded individual, especially in his music. With this new hit single, Unbreakable, Dirty South is seeking out to release an album later this year, spanning many different genres. Dirty South is very talented at blending different genres and making them compatible to one another, in one single track.

Review: RealBeanz Iced Coffee with Coconut Water

RealBeaz has released a ready-to-drink iced coffee drink made with Coconut water. Although the combination may seem a bit odd, the dark rich flavor of the coffee combines well with the light and sweet Coconut water for a unique iced coffee experience.

The coconut water adds a noticeable yet subtle flavor to the coffee which at first may catch you by surprise but, after a few sips the different flavor notes come together really well. In addition to making the drink tastier, the coconut water makes the iced coffee very refreshing.

Out of their new flavors, I found that the Cappuccino and Caramel Iced Coffees tasted the best as they worked well with the coconut water. Although the coffee can be drank straight out of the bottle, there’s nothing like drinking iced coffee out of a cup with a couple ice cubes.

RealBeanz Iced Coffees are available nationwide; you can find local retailers on their website.

Review: Daddy Yankee @ Echostage

IMG_3257

Event: Daddy Yankee @ Echostage – July 18, 2014 –

Puerto Rican ‘Reggaetonero’, Daddy Yankee, performed at one of Washington DC’s premier venues, Echostage. Traditionally Echostage is a hub for Electronic music shows but, last Friday it was home to one of the best Reggaetoneros in the game.

MORE PHOTOS

The night began pretty bad to say the least; the opening DJs didn’t know what to play with the crowd booing at times and even a commercial being played on the Echostage LED wall — all of which were failures by the promoters of the event. Luckily, Daddy Yankee was able to save the night. Daddy Yankee opened with what boosted his career onto the international stage, and we all know it, “Gasolina” in honor of 10 years since the release of his album “Barrio Fino” As the night went on, the crowd completely forgot the failures of the opening acts and sang along to just about every song.

Video:

The crowd was surprisingly diverse; fans from a wide range of ages, backgrounds and ethnic groups — it was nice to see how Reggaeton has globalized beyond just the Latin market. What made the night most enjoyable was how the fans knew every song; it didn’t matter whether it was old or new, the crowd danced and sang the night away. My only grievance is that Daddy Yankee didn’t perform, “Gangsta Zone”, which was one of my personal favorites from Barrio Fino En Directo. Even though he didn’t perform my favorite throwback song, overall, the night was memorable and one of my favorite Reggaeton concerts as of today.

Review: Frontliner – The Summer Of Frontliner (3/14) (2014)

Frontliner & Kristina Antuna - Galaxies Collide (Original Mix)

Frontliner has released a three songs of his new project titled, “The Summer of Frontliner”, which, as you can imagine, is a good addition to a summer playlist. The most enjoyable songs on Fronliner’s new EP were, “Galaxies Collide” and “TBA 2” which is currently #2 on Hardstyle.Com’s top tracks. The melody on “TBA 2” is borderline memorizing, interrupted only by the drop with the hard hitting kicks that Hardstyle is known for. What I enjoyed the most about “Galaxies Collide” was how the instrumental and the vocals came together, especially on the build ups.

Review: Moska – Duma EP (2014)

Moska Brazil

Moska was not shy on merging various genres into single tracks with this EP. From Moombahton to Big Room and even a little Bounce and Tech house elements this three track EP is jam packed full of genres. What I really enjoyed about the EP was how Moska went about merging all these styles without it feeling ‘boxed’, everything just flowed so well you won’t even notice when those hips will begin to move.

Buy exclusively on Beatport

My personal favorite was the track for which the EP is named, “Duma” Although at times it does have a Big Room house sound, Moska didn’t over do it. The melody was like listening to 8-bit Punta or similar Afro-Latin tropical sounds — it’s a great merge of Electronic and Tropical Latin sounds. Moska really took advantage of his Colombian background on this track. If you don’t want to buy the whole EP, I would recommend “Duma” as a must have.

Audiotricz Infinite EP

With a little more than a year in the game, Audiotricz, have released their first compilation album, “Infinite Vol.1” The album features tracks from a wide range of producers like Coone, TNT, Noisecontrollers and many others. Two of my personal favorite tracks on this compilation are Code Black and Atmozfears’ “Accelerate” and Audiotricz’ “Momentum”, both tracks with great vocals and amazing hardstyle instrumentals that come together so well.

Review: Ivy Queen Ft. J Alvarez – No Hay (Remix)

nohay

After a long irregular absence in the scene, Ivy Queen is back with a remix of a two year old track “No Hay” Although it is old, the addition of J Alvarez really gives the song new life. J Alvarez’ unique singing style combined with Ivy Queen’s equally unique style come together relatively well. The only issue I had was that this featuring could of been used for a new single, rather than using it on an old song.

Review: Zion & Lennox Ft. Nicky Jam & J Balvin – Solo Tu (Remix)

Solo Tu (Official Remix) Zion

Veteran duo Zion & Lennox call on Nicky Jam and Colombian Reggaetonero, J Balvin for their remix of “Solo Tu” As the title can imply, the track is a Romantic Reggaeton track. The chorus to “Solo Tu” is the catchiest part of the whole song giving the song that “sticky” factor that makes songs successful. Nicky Jam’s verse is a mix of his styles; rapping and singing which is a nice touch for what the song is trying to aim at. My favorite part of the remix was when Zion and J. Balvin, who both have great voices, came together to sing a little part of the chorus which was a nice touch.
