Excision at Echostage This Weekend with 150K Watts of Sound

Excision Echostage

150,000 watts of sound? Yup. The first Excision show I attended was when I was covering it for Corillo Magazine at Echostage when it was still in it’s infancy. Back then, Excision only had 100,000 watts of Sound which left me shocked — it was awesome! Dubstep and Bass-heavy music is best listened to loud and 150,000 watts really gives the audience a literal feel for the music. It is a sound you can feel. If you haven’t been to an Excision show yet, you have to. Not only is the sound ridiculous, the visuals he brings with he Excision pod/stage is mind-blowing! Not to mention, Dirtyphonics & ill.Gates will be opening for Excision. All this for just $30 USD, get your tickets today.

Corillo Commute 008: The Best Of EDM 2013

Best Of EDM 2013

We went through our iTunes library and looked for the most memorable tracks of the year. This year was the year of Big Room with many of the biggest hits this year being part of that sub-genre. 2013 also marked the rise of Hardstyle in the United States with Headhunterz on tour in the United States and Showtek breaking Hardstyle onto the mainstream with “Get Loose”

It has been a remarkable year for Electronic music in the United States; bigger and better festivals, countless shows throughout the nation and new genres making their way onto the mainstream. We look forward to what 2014 holds.

Over the last few years, Tiesto has released various Club Life compilations, but they’re just that, compilations. Tiesto announced that his new project for next year will be an “artist” album, tracks produced by him with some possible features.

Keep your eyes open as 2014 approaches for new Tiesto tracks that may be featured on his upcoming album.

deadmau5 Reacts to “Beamz by Flo” Ad

deadmau5 beamz by flo

Will.I.Am, Pitbull, Flo Rida and other main-stream acts have had a number of product sponsorship out there, but anything besides foods and drinks usually go down the toilet. Another great example of this is Flo-Rida’s “Beamz by Flo”, a laser based “futuristic DJ” system. The same product has been pumped out on the market since 2009, but has had little success now Flo Rida wishes to push the product himself with a little help from deadmau5′ brand — his mouse head.

In a commercial titled “Even a mouse can play”, a person using the iconic mouse head is taped using the product (if you didn’t know you’d think it was Joel himself). This sparked some ranting from deadmau5 on Twitter stating:

.@beamzmusic i dont recall agreeing to any terms of you using my likeness and trademark to sell your shitty product.
– @deadmau5

It’s a pretty sad attempt from Flo Rida and the company behind the product at trying to get buyers. Just sad. Watch the commercial below.
