AVICII will premiere his new single “Wake Me Up” June 14th

Washington, D.C. – So as many of you already know, AVICII was ridiculed a few months ago for playing bluegrass at UMF Miami, wondering why? The young producer is currently working on a new studio album where he is taking on a new direction from what he is normally known for. His new album will feature a tune titled, “Wake Me Up” which from the preview above sounds very down to earth and laid-back like most bluegrass. The track will premiere in its entirety on June 14th, 2013 on Pete Tong’s radio show on BBC Radio One.

This album is expected to be very different from what he has done in the past, so don’t expect another LE7ELS track. Let us know what you think of the direction AVICII is taking below in the comments section.

Daft Punk – Get Lucky (Skywhere Remix): A Duo From Greenland

(Photo: Daft Punk Meets Nyan Cat)
Washington, D.C. – We got this gem in our drop box a couple days ago, and to our surprise it was pretty good. Skywhere is a duo from, get this, Nuuk, Greenland (Yes, people live there) who are also brothers. They decided to remix the promotional single off of Daft Punk’s new album “Random Access Memories“, which released just yesterday on iTunes, featuring Pharell. The Skyland remix is a house remix of the dance-pop single, adding programmed electronic instruments to the real instrument based original. The Greenland based duo has released their remix as a free download on Soundcloud, which you can stream below.

Deadmau5 Releases Previews of “Killthemau5” Featuring Kill The Noise

Washington, D.C. – So deadmau5 has been releasing a lot of previews of his new stuff lately; little snippets here and there, but this is the first preview of a collaboration from Joel.

Like many deadmau5 tracks, there is a cinema like introduction which then leads to the Kill The Noise influenced laid-back glitch hop drop. Although it’s a glitchy track, its not too crazy, its quite calming — almost trance like. You’re reminded its Kill The Noise and Deadmau5 because of the deep “sub-sonic” bass in the background followed by the superb sounds deadmau5 is known for.

Listen to the two previews at let us know what you think. Is the song hit or miss? I personally think it’s pretty nice.

De Oro Releases Two Freebies: Moombahcore & Electro Tracks

Washington, D.C. – Miami based producer and DJ, De Oro, has released new freebies, an original Moombahcore track titled “Revolution” and an interesting electro house bootleg of Fat Boy Slim – Star 69

The young 21 year old has worked on previous Corillo Magazine projects like the first volume of MMBTN, a moombahton mixtape hosted by DJ Blass, and has now released a grimey and dark moombahcore track that is surprisingly still danceable. The second freebie released by De Oro is his electro house bootleg to Fat Boy Slim’s “Star 69” . The bootleg is crazy; a high energy intense electro house track with a surprising amount of bass. You can download and stream both of these tracks below. Feel free to share them with friends and leave comments.

Krewella Gets Their First #1 Single

Washington, D.C. – The dubstep trio, Krewella, have earned their first #1 single this week on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart.

Their single “Alive” has been on the charts for 32 weeks surpassing Zedd’s “Clarity” which is currently at the #2 Spot as well as other prominent names in EDM like Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia. The trio has truly grown dramatically from their humble beginnings, a “Started From The Bottom Now We Here” type story — headlining at major festivals like Ultra Music Festival in Miami and now getting their first #1 single on the charts. We’ve supported Krewella since we first launched as a magazine in late 2011 with their vocal mix to Skrillex’s “Breathe”, seeing how far they’ve come now is pretty awesome. We hope Krewella continues on their path to success and continues to blow people’s minds with their great music.
