Oh’Sabi – Crazy (Original Mix) [Melbourne Bounce]

Fairfax, VA – Although the track title kind of gives it away, this original mix by Australian producer Oh’Sabi is just that, Crazy.

Mixing trance like bass lines with electro synth pads and even throwing some saxophone in there for good measure, Oh’Sabi’s Melbourne style of house, also known as Melbourne Bounce, will surely have you movin’ and groovin’. The track is currently available as a freebie, a must have for those looking for new sounds and styles of “EDM” to listen to.

Oh’Sabi’s remix of “Bumaye” was featured on our 4th episode of “Corillo Commute” our official podcast. Subscribe here.

Odesza – My Friends Never Die (Original Mix) [Chill]

Fairfax, VA – Seattle-based producer Odesza has released a new freebie, “My Friends Never Die”

The Electronica track has a hip hop feel to it with an electronic twist with sweeping pads and step-synths that’ll send shivers down your spine (in a good way). The overall feel of the track is relaxed and chill, great cruising music in my opinion. You can download the full track for free today. Let us know what you think by rating the track and leaving a comment with your thoughts below.

The single will be part of Odesza’s upcoming EP, “My Friends Never Die EP” out September 17th, 2013.

Audrio Releases His Music Video “Dreaming Wide Awake”

Fairfax, VA – Audrio, Avicii’s protege, has released a music video to his new single “Dreaming Wide Awake”

Contrary to what is the “norm” in EDM, Audrio’s electro house track music video isn’t PLUR or random compilation of shows. The music video is dark, creepy and, if you’re easily scared, it’s a wee bit terrifying and gruesome, but its well put together. Although there’s a small production error, 1:48-1:49, it does not draw away from the shear energy of the gritty synths of the electro house track.

Audrio’s single will be released on September 3rd, 2013 on Avicii’s label, LE7ELS.

Headhunterz Will Have You Seeing “Colors”

Fairfax, VA – Headhunterz brings us his latest track featuring vocals by Tatu titled “Colors” After signing to Ultra Music, Headhunterz went to work on his first 2013 single and went “hard” on it (pun intended). This hardstyle tune has amazing synths and club pounding bass accompanied by great vocals by Tatu that’ll have you “seeing colors”

The track is set to be released on Ultra this Friday August 30, 2013. Expect it on our next podcast episode which will be released this Sunday. Listen to the teaser below.

Flosstradamus Remixes Major Lazer’s “Bubble Butt”

Washington, D.C. – Flosstradamus remixes the radio hit single off of Major Lazer’s album Free The Universe, “Bubble Butt” featuring Bruno Mars, Tyga, Mystic, and 2 Chainz — and yes it’s a trap remix. The trap music duo released a short preview of their remix today, a little slower than the original but, it’ll still produce a “twerking” reaction from the crowd with a repetitive clap played during the drop. If you like slow-twerking, this track is a must listen/have.

Noisia & Foreign Beggars Release a Preview to their New Album “I Am Legion”

Washington, D.C. – If you like glitchy bass music, good news for you, Noisia and Foreign Beggars have teamed up to work on “I Am Legion” a bass filled album. All the tracks are glitchy, bass heavy and did we mention that they’re glitchy? The album has glitch hop, dubstep and, of course, trap songs on it with Foreign Beggar providing the vocals and bass music trio Noisia on the beat. Overall, a pretty good album with good glitchy music.

The album drops September 2nd; pre-order it here.

Review: Sohella Slows Down the Rising “Trap” Trend

Washington, D.C. – Nashville based producer, Sohella, is known for his unique take on overplayed and “over-juiced” music genres like Big room house and has done the same once again; but, this time with another genre, trap.

Trap is a style of Hip Hop that was developed from Southern Rap music. The word for the style was derived from the topics the rap songs covered; which consisted mostly of drugs, money and the neighborhoods where such activities took place, also known as the “trap” Since its creation rappers and producers like 2 Chainz, Future, Lex Luger and countless others have gained unimaginable success from the style’s catchy beats.

Electronic-Dance music, being based off catchy rhythms and beats, adopted trap music into its family of numerous sub-genres. Since its “adoption” into EDM, it’s popularity has skyrocketed; attracting the attention of old school producers like DJ R3Hab, known for upbeat Progressive House tunes, but has also become a hub for cliché, mediocre and just flat out bad Trap music.

Sohella has taken the same bass-rich kicks and hi-hat rolls common in Trap music, and slowed it down to an unique and “laid back” tune titled “Hands Up” that’ll surely have you bobbing your head to the beat. Like all EDM, there has to be a “drop”, and this tune is no exception with a simple Hip Hop beat leading into a high-energy smooth synth pad with heavy kicks and hi-hat rolls to top it all off. Compared to most Trap music produced in EDM, Sohella’s take on it is calming and is a great tune to cruise to.

Kill The Noise – Saturn (GTA Remix): High Energy Electro Meets Melbourne

Washington, D.C. – Miami based JWLS and Van Toth, members of duo GTA, have remixed Kill The Noise’s single featuring Brillz and Minxx “Saturn” GTA, known for their re-popularization of Big Room house as “main stream” along with Carnage, has tapped into yet another variation of house music, Melbourne Bounce, a style of house from Australia. The remix has elements of electro house with traces of Melbourne Bounce in the drop and a nice dose of it near the end creating a high energy track that’ll surely have the club “bouncing” Knowing the success and popularity of GTA, we expect Melbourne Bounce influenced tracks will begin to saturate the industry pretty soon as big room house dies down.

The remix is part of the Black Magic Remixes EP being released on iTunes, Spotify and Beatport under Skrillex’s label OWSLA on September 3rd, 2013.
