2014 Begins with another EDM mishap: DVBBS & VINAI

Raveology DVBBS Vinai

DVBBS, Vinai and Spinnin Records are preparing to launch a new track, “Raveology” This track has been promoted for some time now, since December 10th, 2013 (a long time in the fast paced world of electronic music) and is going to be released on January 13th, 2014.

In 2013 we have seen many examples of “lack of creativity” syndrome and DVBBS had a mishap last year with “Stampede” and “Tsunami”. Now that we’ve rang in the new year, we’ve got another similar situation. DVBBS, a Canadian production and DJ sibling duo, have produced a collaborative track with Vinai, also a sibling duo from Italy. This collaborative track, “Raveology” sounds great — a funky Melbourne Bounce track. What happened? Well, it sounds like an edited version of a previous Vinai track, “Hands Up”, passed through some filter. Don’t believe us? Stream both tracks below. The term “Original Mix” shouldn’t be added, “Edit” or “Remix” would be more of a better fit.

Makj released a little snippet of a track he is working on that’ll be released this year. It sounds like a Big Room track with a Melbourne bounce feel. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Oh’Sabi – Crazy (Original Mix) [Melbourne Bounce]

Fairfax, VA – Although the track title kind of gives it away, this original mix by Australian producer Oh’Sabi is just that, Crazy.

Mixing trance like bass lines with electro synth pads and even throwing some saxophone in there for good measure, Oh’Sabi’s Melbourne style of house, also known as Melbourne Bounce, will surely have you movin’ and groovin’. The track is currently available as a freebie, a must have for those looking for new sounds and styles of “EDM” to listen to.

Oh’Sabi’s remix of “Bumaye” was featured on our 4th episode of “Corillo Commute” our official podcast. Subscribe here.

Kill The Noise – Saturn (GTA Remix): High Energy Electro Meets Melbourne

Washington, D.C. – Miami based JWLS and Van Toth, members of duo GTA, have remixed Kill The Noise’s single featuring Brillz and Minxx “Saturn” GTA, known for their re-popularization of Big Room house as “main stream” along with Carnage, has tapped into yet another variation of house music, Melbourne Bounce, a style of house from Australia. The remix has elements of electro house with traces of Melbourne Bounce in the drop and a nice dose of it near the end creating a high energy track that’ll surely have the club “bouncing” Knowing the success and popularity of GTA, we expect Melbourne Bounce influenced tracks will begin to saturate the industry pretty soon as big room house dies down.

The remix is part of the Black Magic Remixes EP being released on iTunes, Spotify and Beatport under Skrillex’s label OWSLA on September 3rd, 2013.
