Cheb i Sabbah – Alkher Illa Doffor (Bassnectar Remix 2013): Donate to Download

Cheb i Sabbah - Alkher Illa Doffor (Bassnectar Remix 2013)

From Bassnectar:

Cheb i Sabbah was a musical pioneer, fusing together entire cultures of sound and music, pushing cutting edge blends of traditional songs with beats and ideas which were way ahead of his time.

“Chebiji” as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66, and we are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.

MAKJ & Henry Fong – Encore [Electro House]

MAKJ & Henry Fong - Encore cover

MAKJ has exploded in popularity as a DJ and Producer, his tracks have landed on sets of renowned DJs like Tiesto and Hardhwell, and has started collaborating with big names as well.

He has teamed up with Henry Fong for this crazy Electro House track, appropriately releasing on Hysteria Records. Although the lead up on this track isn’t the best, the drop on it is great with the kicks and the slightly funky electro beat combining to create an atmosphere that is full of energy. You can just imagine this being dropped during a show.

The track will be out on December 2nd, 2013.

QLoo: The “Pandora” App for Everything Else [Tech]

203397_QlooHomeScreen

We all “like” things, whether it be a retweet/favorite on Twitter, a like on Tumblr, Instagram or Facebook — we tend show what we like by literally liking things online. This information is usually used by social media sites to give info to advertisers for their benefit, but Qloo takes that information and gives you suggestions for just about anything.

The app works by letting you like products, movies, songs, restaurants, etc and then taking that info through their algorithm to give you suggestions on what to do, see or buy. The categories aren’t broad like other services, they’re broken down into more specific ones. For example, dining can be broken down into “Date Spots” or Brunch Spots — taking your likes and letting you narrowing it down to what you want to do.

The app has received a good some of seeding money and gotten celebrity backing, so it looks like the app is here to stay for sometime. You can get it for free on the App Store today.

Protohype & 12th Planet - Fungus (Preview) [Trap]

We had a chance to congratulate 12th Planet on his latest EP, along side Protohype, backstage at Life In Color DC back in September and now they’re back with some new stuff.

“Fungus” is their latest collab together, a trap single off SMOG CITY Vol.2 — an album with tracks by different producers like Flich, Illskillz and many others. You can get the full album, including “Fungus”, on November 19th, 2013.

Erizo – Nano [Hardstyle]

Erizo Nano Hardstyle

Colorado-based producer, Erizo, brings us this apocalyptic Hardstyle tune, “Nano”

Although its message is dark and well out right depressing, the beat and feeling given off by the track doesn’t match up — its full of energy and upbeat. Overall, “Nano” is a great track. If you like it, it’ll be available on November 19th, 2013.

Franco “El Gorilla” Previews His Wisin “Beef” Track

Franco El Gorilla Wisin Tiraera

Puerto Rican Reggaeton artist, Franco “El Gorilla” has recently dropped a snippet of his upcoming song “Nunca Existio Tal Sobreviviente”

This comes after he sided with Arcangel over another “Beef” or “Tiraera” track, “Feliz Navidad 5” where Arcangel calls out Wisin. Like many before him, Jayko and Tico, Franco has taken to the recording studio to address his grievances against Wisin & Yandel, in this case specifically Wisin. The “Tiraera”, or lyrical “war”, comes at a time where both Wisin and Yandel, who have recently re-launched their solo careers, are working on promoting their respective albums.

We highly doubt Wisin will respond with another “tiraera” track, which is customary in Reggaeton, because of the controls he is currently under with an upcoming album in the works.

What do you guys think of the Arcangel-Franco beef against Wisin? Let us know below.
