Fairfax, VA – If you’ve been to a Diplo show lately, you’ve probably already heard some of these tracks. If you follow Diplo on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the cover above before. Its his new EP!
Diplo has, as always, brought some crazy new music from his various travels around the world — mixing and collaborating with different genres and producers. One of these producers was Boaz van De Beatz, a dutch producer he has started to push heavily on his label Mad Decent. Overall, the EP sounds pretty “diplo” if we can use that as an adjective. Listen to the preview below under the track listing where our staff picks are.

Fairfax, VA – This past weekend, electronic music power houses, Diplo and Skrillex, joined forces for the first time as Jack U at the Mad Decent Block Party 2013 in San Diego, California.
Jack U was announced a few months ago by Diplo as a duo between himself and Skrillex. The pairing of two big producers isn’t a new thing for the two; Diplo with Jillionaire as Major Lazer and Skrillex with Boys Noize as Dog Blood. These duos have formed to create unique music and to create a new sound for those fans who have grown tired of “the same thing” over and over again.
The duo also dropped a few new tracks during their set at MBP13 San Diego, all of which so far have no I.D. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
Washington, D.C. – Yup, there is a movie about electronic dance music in the works.
Diplo and his business partner, Kevin Kusatsu, have teamed up with 20th Century Fox to create an EDM inspired movie. In the words of Diplo the movie will be a “8 Mile meets Project X” type of a film. There is still no word on when the movie will go into production or even a rough release date, but the names of the writers and some producers have been released; Adam Weinstock and Andy Jones as writers and Trevor Engelson and Noah Rothman as producers and executive producers, respectively.
Wondering why Diplo is making a movie? Well Diplo isn’t just a producer, DJ and Business man. He also studied film at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Washington, D.C. – Here’s a preview of Diplo’s musical production, featuring Swick, titled “Keep It Gully”. The song is unique to say the least, it’s “Diplo Typical”. If you wish to acquire this track first you’ll have to become part of Mad Decent’s Premium Subscription club, which is similar to OWSLA’s “The Nest”, where users pay a small monthly fee for exclusive music and special perks. Then wait until February 4th to get the track through their $10.00 USD a month service.
If you wish to subscribe to the Mad Decent Premium service, where users get exclusive acapellas as well, you can do so here.
Washington, D.C. – Here’s Diplo’s first solo BBC Radio 1 “Diplo & Friends” DJ Set of 2013, mixed from Jamaica where he was filming Major Lazer‘s new music video. The set features songs by Gents & Jawns, Steve Aoki, Trinidad James and many more — encompassing Diplo’s vast influence in various genres.
