D-Block and S-Te-Fan bring us their remix of Dash Berlin and Jay Cosmic’s “Here Tonight” featuring Collin McLoughlin. This release is part of the “Here Tonight remixes part 2” release, which is set to drop in August.
Both duos shared photos of themselves in studio working on a collaborative track. It is speculated that a 128-130 BPM Hardstyle, or ‘House-style’, tune will be created but, nothing yet has been confirmed.
On the fan side, feelings are a bit mixed. Some fans welcome the collaborative effort while others bash it and bash it hard. Hardstyle is growing at a fast rate since it’s introduction to the ‘EDM Scene’ in the United States creating collaborative tracks like Krewella and Headhunterz and Coone on Dim Mak Records. Hopefully as this trend continues to grow Hardstyle doesn’t lose too much of it’s identity to Big Room-like fads — it would be a tragedy to lose those hard hitting kicks man.

Drop:
No watered down kicks here! DBSTF and Isaac bring a nice Hardstyle kick that really makes the drop pretty awesome. The heavy kick is pretty well contrasted with an upbeat melody and vocals which create a ‘feel good’ vibe to it.
Vocals:
Chris Madin’s vocal combined with the calm and almost Progressive House styled intro to create a great feel. I have a feeling that this track may become a summer anthem this year.
Originality:
It’s not watered down Hardstyle and it’s not a woodblock Big Room track so we give it a thumbs up in this category.
Sound Quality:
The vocals, the melody and the kick on this track all sound great. Nothing is out of place and it’s pretty balanced. As previously stated, the heavy kick is contrasted well by other aspects of the song which really balance it out. It’s a good track to introduce n00bs to; its not too Hard for a House fan but, Progressive enough to where someone isn’t completely alienated by the track.
Worth The Buy:
Yes! Especially since Hardstyle is on the rise, it’s great track to ease your way into the genre. Purchase it on iTunes today!

Music Video:
Great vocals combined with a great melody dropping into a chill almost smooth Hardstyle kick makes “Alive” one hell of a track. This collab between big name producers DBSTF (D-Block & S-te-Fan) and DJ Isaac with vocals from Chris Madin is set to release on March 21, 2014 on Derailed Traxx Records along with a music video.
