Kanye West Raps About Mitt Romney’s Taxes

Washington DC – Kanye West knocks Mitt Romney in the first song off Cruel Summer, the highly anticipated G.O.O.D. Music compilation album due in stores on Tuesday.

“I’m just trying to protect my stacks / Mitt Romney don’t pay no tax,” West raps on “To The World*,” a song which also features R. Kelly. The lyric is an obvious reference to Romney’s low tax rate and refusal to release a substantive number of tax returns, on the basis of political attacks. In a recent interview, Ann Romney, the wife of GOP candidate Mitt Romney, spoke about the tax returns stating that they will not release more in fear that it will be used as “ammunition” by the opposing party.

Nicki Minaj also mentioned Romney in a song. On her and Lil Wayne’s cover of “Mercy,” Minaj raps that she was voting for the GOP hopeful (“I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b—-es is f—ing up the economy”). Suspicions that Minaj was being sarcastic were confirmed by none other than Barack Obama, who was asked about the song in an interview and said that Minaj was playing a character. The rapper confirmed Obama’s theories in a series of ecstatic tweets.

The entirety of Cruel Summer had leaked by Thursday. A number of the songs (“New God Flow,” “Clique,” “Cold,” “Don’t Like” and “Mercy”) had already been released. It’s interesting that R. Kelly was featured, as he and Jay-Z had a very public fallout when the R&B singer walked off stage in the middle of a Best of Both Worlds Tour show at Madison Square Garden. Jay, a regular collaborator and mentor of sorts to West, also appears on the album.

Knife Party Announce A New Tour “The Haunted House Tour”

 

Washington DC – Knife Party announced a new “mini tour” bringing a little electro to the Halloween season. The tour will count on performances by Tommy Trash, Kill The Noise, Zane Lowe, Style of Eye and Mad Decent producer Bauuer. Tiësto Releases Tour Dates For “Club Life College Invasion 2012”

Washington DC – The much anticipated tour for college rave fans, the Tiësto College Invasion Tour 2012 is almost here. The tour starts in the beginning of October in Syracuse, New York with some of electronic music’s biggest names; Bingo Players, Dada Life, Tommy Trash, Quintino and of course the world’s most paid and famous DJ, Tiesto. Daddy Yankee Films His Next Music Video “Limbo”


Here’s a behind the scenes look at the “Limbo” music video, directed by Jessy Terrero.

Washington DC – Daddy Yankee has filmed his newest music video in “El Centro Ceremonial Otomi” in the city of Temoaya, Mexico for his new single “Limbo”, another undeniable hit off his upcoming album, “Prestige”.

The video was directed by Jessy Terrero as part of the global phenomenon that will be “Prestige”, with not only the quality of music but also it’s videos. In this case, Limbo was filmed on location in natural enviroments such as exotic ruins, the jungle, and rain forests where DY is the commander staged in a sub-culture where men and women lose themselves in the Limbo.

As so, the director manages to combine the rhythm and lyrics of the song among living species that create a fantasy world around a habitat where Daddy Yankee emerges, accompanied by a corps of dancers and extras including beautiful models adding to the exotic setting.

“I wanted Limbo to invite the imagination, ignite creativity, to not be the same as always. Such the theme, as the video encourages each person to interpret the world as they see it and to create their own version of the dance. I believe we’ve made one of the best videos of my career.” says the artist who already finds himself immersed in preparation for the release of his anticipated album “Prestige” on sale 9/11. Limbo will world premiere on Vevo on September 21st.

The KOAN Sound Release Their “The Adventures of Mr. Fox EP” Today

Washington DC – The EDM duo, Koan Sound, comprised of UK born producers Jim Bastow & Will Weeks have recently released their latest EP under label OSWLA on Beatport, titled “THE ADVENTURES OF MR. FOX EP”. The album includes a variety of tracks from different genres, mostly Bass based music (see what I did there?); Dubstep, Electro House and what the duo is mostly known for — Glitch Hop. The EP comprises of 7 tracks, of which only one is a Dubstep track, chill one at that. “THE ADVENTURES OF MR. FOX EP” is currently only available on Beatport but, according to the duo, the EP will be launched on iTunes in about a little less than two weeks. Behind The Scenes: Kendo Ft. Baby Rasta & Gringo – Llamala (Official Video)

Washington DC – Here’s the behind the scenes look at the “Llamala” music video. Baby Rasta & Gringo and Kendo, artists who are all signed to EME Music, have been recording their next music video in sunny California. The music video of “Llamala” was filmed at a location near Los Angeles, California where director Carlos Martin and videographer Ryan Weith headed the operation. There is still no set release date for the music video.

Maffio Will Throw the First Pitch at The Miami Marlin’s Ball Park

Miami, Florida – Multi-platinum producer and singer, Maffio will be at the Marlin’s Ball Park, which can hold up to 37,000 baseball fans, on Friday August 31, 2012 when the Marlins face the New York Mets. Maffio will be throwing the opening pitch before the game begins and after the game ends, Maffio will perform at West Plaza of the park. The game will start at 7:10PM and be presented by beer maker, Heineken.
