deadmau5 – Suckfest9001 [OUT NOW]
After a long wait, deadmau5 is releasing some new official stuff. Over the past few months, Toronto-based producer, deadmau5 has been dropping sneak peaks of songs “in-progress”, but has finally put some of these together into a new album he is planning on releasing on his label mau5trap featuring other signed producers like Heat Maxwell, BSOD and others.
“Suckfest9001” is classic deadmau5 track with great analog sounds (yes he uses analog). Its nice to listen to some new deadmau5

RL Grime – Because of U [Trap]: Music Video & Free Download
Fairfax, VA – Clockwork aka RL Grime brings us his new stuff, “Because of U”
Chill, slow paced and filled with relaxing pads and rolling light melodies, “Because of U”, is a pretty nice change of pace from “regular” trap. It’s not boring, it’ll just have you “flexin'” and “cookin'” (forms of dancing to trap — if you’re not twerking) at a slower pace. Best of all, the track is free! Just download it at RL Grime’s site.
The new trap single comes accompanied by a music video too. The neon light spelling out “We Did It” is a collective that includes RL Grime and others like Shlohmo, Ryan Hemsworth, Groundislava, D33J, Nick Melons, Juj, 2KWTVR and SUS BOY. The dark music video is pretty simple, a gradual zoom on the neon sign with smoke surrounding it — don’t forget the model on top of the DJ set up.
Tiësto Ft. Disco Fries – iTrance (Original Mix) [Freebie]
Fairfax, VA – After joking about making trance, Tiesto has finally done it in collaboration with the Disco Fries.
Tiesto bet his fans if he became DJMag’s #1 DJ of the year, he’d release a trance tune for old time’s sake. The results of the voting came in and the #1 spot was grabbed by fellow Dutch DJ, Hardwell. Despite this, Tiesto still released the track as a “Thank You” to all those fans who voted anyways.
Flux Pavilion & Dillon Francis – I’m The One (Original Mix) [Moombahton]
Fairfax, VA – Being from the Washington, DC metro area, the birthplace of moombahton, I can’t help to get excited for new Moombah- tracks and Dillon’s new collab is no exception.
“I’m The One” is a collaboration between Dubstep heavyweight, Flux Pavilion, and Moombahton Embassador Dillon “Where’s my Dad?” Francis. What makes this collaboration great, besides the fact that it is Moombah, is that both producers’ styles aren’t overpowered by one another. Listening to the track you can hear some Flux and some Dillon (classic Dillon by the way) in there which is nice.
Wondering why it sounds like “Classic Dillon Francis”? Well it was made over a year ago, but is finally being released on Flux’s upcoming EP.
DVBBS & Borgoreous – Tsunami vs Stampede: Can you tell the difference?
Fairfax, VA – Two different tracks, two different record labels — same sounds though. Can you tell the difference between Tsunami and Stampede? Or does “Stampede” sound like Version 2.0 of Tsunami? Let us know below.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs DVBBS & Borgeous – Stampede (Preview)
Fairfax, VA – Let us begin by saying, if you like DVBBS’ “Tsunami” you’ll love this track — which isn’t necessarily a good thing either.
EDM has exploded in the last few years, due mostly to it’s expansion in the U.S. market. This has led to much of “the same thing” — producers follow trends too tightly. “Stampede” is a great example of that. There is no doubt denying “Tsunami” is a great track that makes festivals, in a somewhat literal sense, go “boom” and “Stampede” follows that trend too — a little too closely though. It’ll definitely be a big hit at shows and festivals for the remainder of the year, but some fans may confuse it for a mash-up or an edit of “Tsunami”
For a song with so much talent involved, I think this track fell a little bit short of what was expected. Still ts a great track to rage to, but it lacks originality considering it sounds like “Tsunami” and its partially produced by the same guys.
We won’t be writing a review of this single.
Dannic & Sick Individuals – Blueprint (Preview)
Fairfax, VA – Triple dutch action on this one, Dannic and duo, Sick Individuals (all dutch), come together to bring us their new single “Blueprint”
“Blueprint” is a mix of Progressive House-like pads with synth sounds usually associated with Dutch House, which doesn’t come as a surprise. What really stands out about this collaboration is the percussion, it really tops of the song as a whole pretty well.
The official release date is October 28th, 2013 via Revealed Recordings.
Our full review of the single will be up soon.
Katy Perry – Roar (dBerrie ‘Plurred Out’ Remix) (Preview)
Fairfax, VA – Yesterday, dBerrie, posted a photo of himself near a bus stop with the caption “Just finished a new remix of a pretty big artist, guess who??”, with a Katy Perry ad in the background. So this remix wasn’t too much of surprise, but what was a surprise was the remix’s feel — it wasn’t too ‘mainstream’
What do I mean by mainstream? Well, its not cheaply put together. Although those who just hate radio hits, will not perceive this remix as good since Katy Perry is all over the radio, but dBerrie’s “Plurred Out” remix is pretty good — no matter what side of the Mainstream vs Non-Mainstream debate you’re on. Still no word on the official release date, but the preview is below.
Let us know what you think.
Vicetone vs. Popeska Ft. Luciana – The New Kings (Preview) [Progressive]
Fairfax, VA – It comes as no surprise that Vicetone has blown up dramatically in a relatively short amount of time and it’s due to their ability to pump out hits. Their new single is no exception, “The New Kings” featuring Popeska and vocals by Luciana, a talented British vocalist which you’ve probably heard on Tiesto’s Club Life Vol 2.
Vicetone’s progressive house track has a good balance of vocals, melodies and buildups as well as drops which make it an overall great track. The feel of the track is overwhelmingly upbeat and positive, which in dance music, is a great thing. Check out the snippet below and let us know what you think.
Out on Beatport, October 14th, 2013.
501 – Vulture (Protohype Remix) [Dubstep]
Fairfax, VA – After his collab with 12th Planet, Protohype, releases his remix of 501’s “Venture”
This remix begins with little 808 action, which Protohype is known for as a successful trap music producer, then bleeds and drops into a synth and pad filled melody followed by a build up into the “meat and potatoes” of the track, Bass and lots of it.
Protohype’s remix is now available on Beatport.
