La Formula Rumored To Be Prematurely Pirated This Week

Washington DC – Pina Records and the artists signed under the label have been working hard on their upcoming album “La Formula” which will feature some of the genre’s biggest and most successful artists — like Daddy Yankee, Don Omar and De La Ghetto amongst others. Not only has Pina Records been hard at work creating their album, they have also invested some time and effort in making sure the album is released according to plan, on August 21, 2012. The label had a mishap with Amazon, which accidentally released the previews of all the songs when they allowed the public to pre-order the album through their service. Recently, the label has contacted two of the largest latin-urban music blogs, which are known for their leaked album releases, to please wait until the day the album releases to “drop the album” on their websites.

This comes as rumors spread of the album’s premature release on the internet. As many already know, the latin-urban genre, Reggaeton, has had a long history of leaked albums and singles without the artists’ consent which labels view as a threat to their profits. Now, Pina Records’ “La Formula” is set to be released or pirated tomorrow, Friday August 17, 2012 four days ahead of its commercial release — according to rumors circulating amongst the Reggaeton community (A rumor we have not started but has been brought to our attention). Although this may hurt the legal sales of the album, the project as a whole is still expected to be successful as the album will be followed by a tour which will also include a show in “El Coliseo” one of the biggest venues on the island of Puerto Rico — to put it into perspective El Coliseo is the “measure of success” equivalent of Madison Square Garden. The album has also been in the Top 10 most purchased Latin Albums on iTunes for the last week since it has been put out for Pre-Order, which also helps speculate the album will be very successful. Many music oriented websites, including Corillo Magazine which is against piracy, have accepted Raphy Pina’s request to not publish the album if it is indeed pre-maturely pirated.

Plan B Ft. Don Omar, Natti Natasha & Syko – Te Dijeron (Official Remix)

Washington DC – Pina Records, the Miami based record company where Plan B are signed, has just released the remix to Plan B’s single “Te Dijieron” off the new album “La Formula”. The remix counts on the participation of Don Omar, Natti Natasha and Syko as part of a new plan between Pina Records and Don Omar’s record label “El Orfanato” where both Natti Natasha and Syko are signed.
The partnership between both these labels was constructed by Raphy Pina and Don Omar, owners of both labels respectively. The remix was launched on Red Link Radio, an online radio station owned by Don Omar, on AJ ‘El Kallejero’s’ Show Urban Zone. “La Formula” will be available to the public on August 21, 2012 — one week from today.

Gent & Jawns – Holler (2012)

Washington DC – Gent and Jawns is what happens when two buds, Billy the Gent and Long Jawns combine forces and create club devastation. Their first release was arguably one of the most played and most sweated to moombahton tracks in existence, “Vibrate”. Now they have a new EP with us “Holler”, it’s a Moombahton hard hitter with a touch of New Orleans bounce that has seen support all over the moombah world. Now packed with mind melting remixes from Valentino Khan and Heartbreak it definitely a problem. We also see a huge b-side with this package, Gent and Jawns try their hand at 128 beats per minute and the result is the floor ready “Bugoff”. Sidechain heavy production with throaty synths, think Toadally Krossed Out but insects instead of Amphibians at the wheels.

Movie Trailer: Red Dawn (2012)

Washington DC – Film District is creating a modern version of the 1980’s classic, “Red Dawn”. The movie will be similar to the older one but, instead of Russians invading which was relevant to the time period, North Koreans (Personally I believe the Chinese would of been a better pick) invade Washington state. “Red Dawn” lanches nationwide on November 21, 2012 just a couple days ahead of Thanksgiving. Any thoughts on the movie based on the trailer? Leave your opinion in the comment box below.
