Maná Will Shatter The All-Time STAPLES Center Concert Record

Los Angeles, CA – Throughout the history of live music performances, a rare level of superstar artists become forever linked with an iconic venue due to their unrivaled drawing power in a city – Frank Sinatra at The Sands, Bruce Springsteen at The Stone Pony & The Meadowlands, Elton John at Madison Square Garden, The Allman Brothers at The Beacon Theatre, The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Starship at The Fillmore, and more. In Los Angeles, legendary links stand between The Doors at The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, James Taylor & Carole King at the Troubadour, and Guns N’ Roses across The Sunset Strip. To that list, you can now add the world’s biggest Latin Rock band, as Maná will now firmly solidify their place as the all-time concert kings of the STAPLES Center. After two capacity concerts this week at Madison Square Garden in New York, The Chart-topping Mexican Superstars will bring their critically-praised Drama y Luz tour back to Los Angeles for another three night concert stand on April 19, 20th and 25th. Impressively demonstrating Maná’s drawing power in the entertainment capitol of the world, this will mark the unrivalled SEVETH Sold-Out STAPLES Center show of this tour alone, and a music-industry leading ELEVENTH CAREER Night at the iconic downtown L.A. arena (Both a new record regardless of language). With Maná unmatched as the top concert draw for young Latino’s, they will now firmly share bragging rights with Kobe Bryant as the ticket-selling titans of STAPLES Center.

“Latin Rock Band Maná Brings In The Audiences… Maná is selling out lots of shows, and the group has been equaling or surpassing audience numbers for major American performers such as Lady GaGa and Taylor Swift!…the group [will surpass] Britney Spears for having the most shows ever at Staples Center”– Perez Hilton

Deadmau5 Trolls Skrillex On The Red Carpet At The 2012 Grammy’s

Los Angeles, California – Before Deadmau5 and Foo Fighters joined forces Sunday night at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, the Canadian superstar DJ made some news of his own by playing a joke on his DJ pal Skrillex on the red carpet. “But @skrillex, doesn’t mean you’re safe from getting the ultimate mau5 trolling experience prepare hahaha love u!” Deadmau5 tweeted Sunday, giving Skrillex a heads up that something was going to happen.

Walking down the red carpet and stopping for pictures, Deadmau5 was wearing a black t-shirt with a phone number and “u mad bro?” beneath it. The digits were apparently Skrillex’s cell phone number. “Maximum trolling achieved,” Deadmau5 said with a photo linked to the tweet.

“Not even funny,” Skrillex quickly replied via his official Twitter account.

“Haha @deadmau5 just wore my phone number on his fokin shirt on tv gotta retire this phone,” Skrillex later tweeted. However Skrillex tried his own means of revenge by taking Deadmau5’s number and forwarding all calls he was receiving to Deadmau5’s phone. But even that didn’t work.

“Nice try with the call forwarding @skrillex  one step ahead of you!” Deadmau5 tweeted to the 24-year-old who is signed to his record label, Mau5trap. “Ps. Congrats dude! Seriously, so rad!”

Later Deadmau5 took to Twitter to vent mildly about the Grammy broadcast. “Damnit Grammys….Stupid commercial showed the new mau5 2.0 LED head. So much for the surprise. FYI. My new LED mau5head is out tonight.”

Skrillex won three Grammy Awards and took to his own Twitter account to thank fans. “If I can win grammys then that means all you yet to be seen bedroom geniuses will one day TAKEOVER THE WORLD,” he proclaimed.

Deadmau5, meanwhile, responded to all the flak he got for his prank with pretty dead-on Facebook post: “lady gaga can somehow pull off wearing meat, but as soon as i have a lul with a friend, OH S— NO I DIDNT. relax people. just a harmless bit of fun and trolling. gotta love the lil goblin for being a good sport about it… if i didnt think he would have… well… i probably would have done it anyway.

“why am i even writting this? epic fun times in LA! but i gotta scoot back to Toronto and finish off this damn studio so i can do whats *actually* important to me. making music.”

Both Skrillex and Deadmau5 have a good year ahead of them, hopefully more awards will be presented to them as the year progresses and more of their projects are released. Stay tuned for more information.
