The Chainsmokers vs. Tove Lo – Habits [Progressive/Freebie]

The Chainsmokers vs. Tove Lo - Habits

Although their names would give people the impression that their music is depressing and dark, The Chainsmokers ended 2013 with some of the best upbeat and “feel good” Progressive tracks and remixes like their remix of The Colourists’ “Fix This”. Now they begin the 2014 year with yet another upbeat Progressive remix, “Habits” with vocals from Tove Lo. This is a must have track, download it today.

Coone & Substance One – Drowning (Official Video)

“Drowning” with Substance One is a featured track on Coone’s recently released full-length album “Global Dedication.” The track demonstrates the more melodious spectrum of “Global Dedication,” spotlighting harmonious vocals. A mixture of plush chord progressions and intricately sewn melodies shows off the diversity possible in modern hardstyle. Most impressive of all is how the serene vocals truly capture the emotional context in “Drowning.

Coone will be in Orlando, Florida tomorrow at Firestone.

Farruko Working with MML (Maybach Music Latino)

Farruko MMG Latino MML

Ever since Rick Ross named a new president to his Spanish division of Maybach Music, Spiff, Maybach Music Latino (MML) has started to work with relevant Latin urban artists. Previously, we reported that Jory, former member of duo Nova & Jory, was working with MML. Now, Farruko is working with them. As seen in the picture above, Farruko is accompanied by Gucci Pucci, his manager and Spiff (from left to right) during a MML dinner meeting.

We expect a cross-over mixtape or collaborations later this year.

Space Miami Writes an Open letter to Deadmau5; Fans Can Attend For FREE

deadmau5 space miami

Deadmau5 has always been critical of the state of electronic music; shows with overpriced tickets, $50K tables at Tiesto shows and “Trust fund kids” running around at his show in Miami. We’ve all seen it; people making $250K+ a year buying up a VIP table at a rave/show — which is what deadmau5 calls “trust fund kids”

In an effort to make deadmau5 feel better about the nightclub scene in Miami, Space Miami, a nightclub in (you guessed it) Miami, Florida, wrote an open letter to the Toronto-based Joel. The letter (below) explained that they would pay expenses up to $25K for a free show without VIP tables or “premium seating”

2014 Begins with another EDM mishap: DVBBS & VINAI

Raveology DVBBS Vinai

DVBBS, Vinai and Spinnin Records are preparing to launch a new track, “Raveology” This track has been promoted for some time now, since December 10th, 2013 (a long time in the fast paced world of electronic music) and is going to be released on January 13th, 2014.

In 2013 we have seen many examples of “lack of creativity” syndrome and DVBBS had a mishap last year with “Stampede” and “Tsunami”. Now that we’ve rang in the new year, we’ve got another similar situation. DVBBS, a Canadian production and DJ sibling duo, have produced a collaborative track with Vinai, also a sibling duo from Italy. This collaborative track, “Raveology” sounds great — a funky Melbourne Bounce track. What happened? Well, it sounds like an edited version of a previous Vinai track, “Hands Up”, passed through some filter. Don’t believe us? Stream both tracks below. The term “Original Mix” shouldn’t be added, “Edit” or “Remix” would be more of a better fit.

Linkin Park & Steve Aoki – A Light That Never Comes (Kick The Habit Remix) [Electro/Freebie]

When you first hear this remix you’re most likely going to be confused, “Is it electro house or is it dubstep… maybe a little glitch hop?” Well, it’s a little bit of all of those things, US based producers Kick The Habit have remixed the Linkin Park and Steve Aoki collab “A Light That Never Comes” and created a track that will just have crowds going crazy. Best of all, the track is available as a free download.

David Heartbreak – Acid Youths (Rell The Soundbender Remix) [Freebie]

David Heartbreak - Acid Youths (Rell The Soundbender Remix)

WOW. The mixing of different elements on this remix go together so well, it’s really quite amazing. At first you think its a beginning of a trap remix then, it’s transformed into a Reggaeton-Moombah remix afterwords, you think its about to go into a Baltimore Bounce drop as the buildup begins then, finally it ends with a trap drop. It’s quite the genre roller coaster. A must have if you’re a DJ or a fan of good remixes.
